Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most prominent actors in Tamil industry. He hasn’t come from a film background. He has worked as an accountant in Dubai for 3 years. He has left he job for various reasons but wanted to motivate himself to become an actor.
In my view he is one of the most positive weapon that Tamil industry needs in this current scenario. The way I look at him is his maturity and how he deal with questions that has been asked.
Watching his interviews is the biggest plus I can see how well he is situated and the off screen presence. He could raise voice for certain issues however he decides to raise his voice with full of positiveness. His sensibility is another point. He treats the anchor‘s like his own family it’s more much of the way of him welcoming them with his heart.
I can give all pluses about him but there’s one minus I think he could consider in the future. As a fan of his I know he works his socks off to deliver a film on time, however at the same time I felt releasing 4-5 films every year is abit of a hassle. Audience don’t know themselves which film to watch as all of his films releases back to back. It can affect the films performance at the box office. My small gesture would be for him to release 2-3 movies every year.

Coming to pluses. There are some pluses about VJS but I will mention few.
Like I said his maturity and sensibilty.
His love towards his fans. The positive energy he showers to his fans is truly amazing. We see many fan meet ups , they do shower love , get photos etc however VJS encourages his fans, he support them and motivate them who they want to be. He give right and wrong answers to improve outside world. That’s why so many people taking him as inspiration and that’s why he doesn’t have any haters.
He doesn‘t care about stardom or competing with the opponents. All he wants his to give good movies , help people and shower positivity. Truly a great human being.
Working with new directors isn’t a easy job but the way VJS gives chances new directors is truly wonderful. That’s only because he has the trust in the director aswell as the product.

From an accountant to the most bankable star.
As we could see Vijay Sethupathi played as Dhanush’s henchman in ‘Pudhupettai’. Many may have not known he did play a small role in Jayam Ravi’s ‘M/Kumuran son of Mahalaskhmi’ as a boxing spectator which was uncredited role. He countinuously was playing credited roles until a starting point came at the year of 2011 which was ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’ with Saranya Ponnavan. The awarding film was appreciated he went unnoticed.
The movie ‘Sundarpandian’ has hit the right chord in his career. He has got some sort of attention and appreciation amongst the audience and won Tamil Nadu state award for the best villain.
When I first watched this film I thought this guy has a great potential to become a great villain but he has changed my opinion.
’Pizza‘ is the movie that had my opinion of him becoming a upcoming villain. When I first experinced this movie VJS acting scope and the way he has utilised it was astonishing. His acting and emotion was so suttle and got us to experience the movie like a one of hell of a show. Credit does goes to Karthik Subbaraj.
Frankly speaking Karthik Subbaraj and VJS shares a great chemistry. He brings best out of VJS no matter which kind of genres he directors. VJS performance will be total packaged.
After ‘Pizza’ VJS has been giving back to back hits and stood firm in the industry. That’s when he was giving continuous hits in multiplexes and became a rising star.
The uniqueness about his acting is he just acts normally. He doesn’t need to have extra modulation to grip performance. Off screen and on screen looks the same. Yes expressions are different and on point but his acting base is so calm and suttle.
His comedy timing is another reason. He’s been doing alot of black comedies but one thing I’ve noticed about his timing the way he portray himself into the character and give the performance so naturally. That’s why he able seek into people likings list.
Last point I really admire about him is his script selections. He captures all kind of genres and try and satisfy the audiences. If a film doesn’t work out, we can appreciate about his performance. His screen presence is next level and truly powerful.
That‘s why likes of Mani Rathnam gave him a chance to act in his movie all because of his dedication , love and his self brand. Of course next with Super Star Rajinikanth!
Truly an amazing actor. A wonderful human who showers love from each and every corner.
