Just happened to watch ’Rocking star’ Yash’s recent flick KGF. It’s time to share my thoughts about the film.
First of all congratulations to team KGF for the super success, hope chapter 2 will replicate the magic.
Over the years Yash’s script selection were highly entertaining, it had a lot of fun, sentiment and firey moments to satisfy his fans. For a change he has chosen a periodic action genre which is a very interesting combination and for a change it’s a new approach by Yash to expand more option in sandalwood film industry.
Coming to the film.
Did the film satisfy me?
Was it a proper cinematic experience?
Is it a repeat value?
Answering those questions in one simple word, yes it has ticked all of my check boxes. There’s many reason why it has satisfied me, the experience in the second half of the film was staggering. The production value of this film is something we need to look at. This is one of the major part of the film success.
These scenes has got me glued to the screen. The production value is where this film scored high. Mainly in a periodic film we see many things that we haven’t experienced before, whether it’s costume designs , set work and cinematography the experience would be extra special for the fans.
However in KGF I thought they‘ve used more intensity towards the environment of each and every frames. You could see the gusty moments and how the people are treated there. It doesn‘t look artificle, looks more realstic than ever.
Watching these particular scenes had truly given me goosebumps. Second half is where everything gets real.
I’ve only watched few of Yash’s films and his intro scene were highly postive. Loved the way how this introduction scene were portrayed. As you can see from this shot, his expressions does all the talking. He has tried a little voice modulation for example when he says ‘ Happy birthday to you‘ it makes us think what will he do to give a return gift. Yash’s dialouge delivery are on point and yet again he has delivered his dialogue for what‘s best for the character.
Big fan of this shot. It clearly stats noone could enter the place unless Rocky bhai gives permission. The scene has the done talking.
Yash’s postioning, the innocence looking like is where elevated the scene to the next level. Loved how the cinematography was filmed, a lot of dull tones to give a intense experience.
A scene where was set in Banglore. The stunt sequence in this particular scene was jolly to watch. Again Yash has kept his scale of acting at the right time, whether he was drunk or to impress the girl , it was a truly a fun moment.
This particular shot shows his swag and why he is a true rocking star of Kannada film industry.
Even though Rocky bhai is a big don, he knows his limits, and value of each human. Getting flashback from his childhoods and where his mother was in a similar situation, he never seemed to forget to help others too.
The director clearly stated he wants to protray the good side of Rocky bhai and did it with a great need.
Loved this little boy‘s performance, for his age he has done exceptionally well. There’s one scene between him and the dons, basically the dons dared one of the kids to hit a police man and he was the only one who had the guts.
The face to face scene between him and the police man was the highlight, also his expressions is where he has scored high. Definiently his work will be appreciated.
For negatives there were some lags during the films and the story telling scenes did distracted us now and then.
Some of the prestigious movies can only be watched at the cinemas, however KGF can be watched at home aswell. Definitely worth your time.
Verdict
Chapter 1 has successful passed,
Hope chapter 2 will replicate the magic.
