Anirudh is currerly having a magical journey. Doing a music for a Rajini film is always a dream come true. Achievement has been accomplished.
So Petta first single ‘Marana mass‘ has released today. A lot of expectations were buzzing around. Has it fullfilled our expectations we shall see.
Normally is kuthu song it will always have fast tempoed beats. What I really like about this song is Anirudh has used a live circulated scene where bunch of people gets the hype up. Small dialogue from Rajini is where as a music listeners gets pumped for the fast paced beat. When a Mass hero comes with a dialogue of course there will be a treat coming on your way.
Drums are powerful instruments. It gives you the enforce to dance. Anirudh has perfectly placed the drums. In between the flow of the drums we can hear small inputs inbetween the flow which makes us think of the old days songs that were composed for Rajini. Really like the part.
French horn, Flugel horn, trumpets and trombone. Mixing these instruments into a music is actually quite difficult. Not all songs can generalise these kind of instruments, however Anirudh has introduced it in a kuthu song which absoutley synced in the presence of Rajini. We all know Rajini carries the bgm on his shoulders but for this he doesn’t need to the bgm was carrying him. A perfect tune to be remastered as a bgm.
Lyricst Vivek has been in a top form recently. A lot of appericstion for his work. He truly has given marana mass lyrics.
‘ Maranam mass-u maranam tough-u tharanam adhukku avan thaan porandhu varanum’
These lyrics is ultimately mass. We can relate this to Rajini cinema career and of screen presence. Keeping Rajini in mind and writing these lyrics is truly a blessing. Well done to vivek.
Loved the way how Anirudh introduced SPB in the song. Small portion but kept well blended. At the end of SPB singing there were a small tune where it stops barely 2 seconds then Anirudh potion comes with a bang. Very interesting.
Rajini looks class in the stills. Visual treat will be grand.
Overall it‘s a TOP notch kuthu song where all sets of audiences can celebrate as Thalaivar treat!
Like I mentioned before Superstar elevates the theme music on his shoulders. His charisma and presence is what connects the audiences.
If you notice in Karthik Subbaraj’s film he always wants a non trendy but a uniqueness and natural theme song. In Petta he may have suggested Anirudh to add some of his magical inputs to elevate this theme to the next level.
Would have been mixture of Karthik-Anirudh thoughts. Small line at the end by Superstar himself made it more thrilling.
We always expect a DNA combo. For a change Dhanush has written the lyrics for Anirudh especially for a Superstar movie.
We can clearly see this song is set for vintage Rajini. It been a while since we saw a vintage role from Rajini. This is a one kind of melody that will be remembered in our olden days. Something to cherish with your wife.
Anirudh seriously is a piano master. The way he flows the music that’s where romance and couple nature can be succeed.
I’m guessing this instrumental song will be situated as flashback. Rajini - Trisha portions. It‘s energetic portion in the album where it can be situated in a mass fight scene or Rajini doing a madurai based kuthu dance.
Love to see this from our beloved Supersta.
Interesting how Anirudh has come along as a music director. This guy seriously knows how to make pulse setting tunes. Absoutley nailed it man.
Loved the electric Guitar portion to start of. Giving the hypenes. This is one of those superstar evolutionary song, where all the crowd will be behind him.
Loved Rajini‘s voice modulation. It will be a treat to define the presence and capability of Rajini.
This surely be a important song in the film.
We are excited what’s Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s role would be. This theme song is so catchy. It’s giving me a North Indian vibe.
Maybe be a important character that will situated in the crucial part of the movie.
Anthony Daasan always gives his best for these kind of grand songs. His voice is so apted for it.
This song did give me a SANA type of music music vibe. When Anirudh has been doing constant commercials films, it’s great Karthik Subbaraj has given him the chance to explore in music. It’s has the feel of the 90’s time.
Villain theme music is crucial in any film. Anirudh has succeeded that in every film. He Has used variety of tunes to make it more powerful.
This theme can be chopped into 3 different sections of the villain portions.
Since this had came out it did give me a feel that we going to see the old Rajini back from the movie Thalapathy.
This is the first ever song from Anirudh that is a slow posion. It’s good to switch up to other formula making your fans to take time to like the song.
The lyrical video stills gave me few of old Rajini movies for the record I had the Padayappa feel.
Big screen experience will be mindblowing.
Of course we heard this theme in the motion poster. Goosebumps moments will capture us in a bull eyeing experience where Superstar himself showering his capabilty for us in the big screen.
Would say one of the best bgm that has been composed for Rajini.
Interesting words has been used by Karthik Subbaraj.
Feeling another song that will be set as a backdrop. We all know the team went to the North for filming.
Without being said i‘ve thoroughly enjoyed this album. Karthik-Anirudh has given a A+ album. A new thoughts and inputs to make them as a successful combo.
Verdict: Anirudh’s has not wasted his dream project. Petta parrak!
